Dubium Certum (for solo piano)

This piano piece is written for the white keys only. "Ah" — those of you with some knowledge of music theory might utter — "well then, it's in the key of C major." Perhaps. Or perhaps not. Perhaps it is a modal piece using the same notes as in the key of C major but with a different note being the tonic or home note — D for Dorian, E for Phrygian, etc. This piece starts out with a distinctive Dorian feel to it, but later in the piece things start to shift... at times it feels Lydian, at times Aeolian, at times — who knows. All this is to say that, although it is only on the white keys, the mood is far from always simply "C major". I hope you enjoy.
